about me

Sebastian Rzepa
- creative producer -

If an idea never gets made, did it even exist?
My hope is to make sure you never find out.
Truly believe that the unexpected is always attainable.
Part-fixer. Part-herder. Full on happiness facilitator.

My journey to becoming a producer was a chunk of luck, along with jumping at any opportunity as soon as it presented itself. I started on music video and film sets, running coffees. Which eventually led to running cables, which then turned into operating a rain bar. Each and every one of these crew jobs opened a lens of appreciation of the entire video process, and the continuous curiosity of creation.

As a producer, I am honored to be so integrated into the creative process in an ever evolving environment, where traditional approaches are being thrown out the window, and rules are being rewritten as we speak.  I have always still held true to advice given to me… which I still share with all producers coming into the field. “No matter how prepped your job may be, you will always stand out on how you handle everything that may change on a moment’s notice.”
Every good producer will be able to prepare themselves to manage these moments - as they come more frequently than most would prefer.

More importantly - you’ll never go wrong with tacos for lunch.

June 2022 - Present | Richmond, VA (via Detroit, MI)
Running fast with all things integrated content. Broadcast, Social/Digital, Radio.
Axe / Bud Light Seltzer / Nütrl / TIAA

Senior Producer at Rocket
August 2020 - June 2022 | Detroit, MI
I shared as a production lead on all work on the Brand and Sponsorship side of Rocket Mortgage. Sponsorships include the NFL, NCAA, and PGA. Work was produced integrated across TV, OLV, Social, and Radio mediums across the campaign. I was also brought in on a panel to optimize an agency model for production execution, both internal and external.

Freelance Content Producer
Ongoing | Global
Freelancing into the eye of a global pandemic, in hindsight, would be something I’d think twice on. However, it led to amazing opportunities to work with brands like Pepsi along with a number of smaller clients to grit my teeth on truly making any client’s budget work - allowing me to dive into the integrated and experiential space, while resourcing a team to execute. Being able to utilize my experience on nearly any size project - I can hop in and freelance for your team, on any project upon request.

Senior Producer at Doner
January 2019 - November 2019 | Southfield, MI
Produced global TV for JBL and Harman Kardon, while working on Bush’s Beans TV, OLV, and Social deliverables for North America.

Producer at Commonwealth//McCann
October 2015 - January 2019 | Detroit, MI
Produced on the North American retail and brand teams as well as the global team. Allowing me to touch nearly every creative group within Commonwealth. My shooting production budgets ranged anywhere from $40,000 to $3,000,000 - allowing me to stretch my knowledge of what a producer is truly capable of.

Producer at Doner
July 2012 - October 2015 | Southfield, MI
My first agency job, or what I call “my leap into the unknown”.
At Doner, I started in the edit suites making post revisions, and producing weekly pitch videos.
After quickly gaining the trust of my Head of Production, and a few creative directors, I was pulled into their groups allowing me to produce multiple retail campaigns for Perkins and JCPenney.

Freelance Film Technician
April 2009 - September 2011
My introduction to anything entertainment related. Naturally started as a production assistant, moved to running cable carts off of G+E trucks, and wound up in special effects running smoke and rain. These experiences gave me an amazing appreciation of the amazing talent that would come together to make something come to life on set.

“Whoa - that was awesome…”

This section is about the work that I admire and find myself looking back at periodically, wishing I had the chance to be a part of these projects. These types of spots always go back to my core question of “damn, how did they do that?!”

Audi - Clowns - Ringan Ledwidge

What an amazing solution to address features on a product. It’s inspiring to see how the score gives this chaotic edit such a peaceful presence.
Ringan Ledwidge has directed some of the most brilliant pieces of work I have ever seen.

ave you heard, “what if we shot on an iPhone?” Apple’s BTS edits have always been such a great way to look at all of the hands that go into a film set. I have gained such an appreciation to all the departments on set that help bring ideas to life.
